Jay Bennett, a multi-instrumentalist who shot to fame as a member of the eclectic American rock band Wilco, died over the weekend. (Thanks to Chuck Snow for alerting us to the sad news.)Here's a link to the Chicago Tribune's story, and below, another link to a somewhat melancholy song (one of my favorites) from the end of Bennett's time with Wilco. It's "Poor Places," a cut taken from Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, widely regarded as Wilco's masterpiece.
